​​​PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES IN SPORT

Information regarding subs​​tances or methods prohibited in sport can be found in a document published by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) known as the Prohibited List.​

The Prohibited List is a compr​ehensive list of substances and methods prohibited in sport, which may be found in certain medications or dietary supplements. This list is updated annually in line with current scientific developments and research.​

The criteria for a substance or method to be included in this list are when it meets two (2) out of the following three (3) conditions:​​

1.​

Has the potential to ​enhance or improve sporting performance.​

​2.

Has the potential to pose or does pose a health risk (such as addiction, causing illness or injury).

​3.
Violates the spirit of sport (i.e., ethics, fair play, honesty, and respect for rules).​​​​
