BERAKAS, Tuesday, 7 Muharram 1448 / 23 June 2026 – The Language and Literature Bureau, through its Library Division, held the Official Launching Ceremony of the Pelita Minda Reading Corner at the IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus Surau earlier this morning.

Present as the Guest of Honour and officiating the launch was Yang Mulia Dr. Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Culture), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The Reading Corner is one of the services offered by the Language and Literature Bureau through its Library Division as part of efforts to cultivate interest in reading and foster a love for books among the public. Its establishment aims to provide an informal learning space, strengthen the reading culture among youth, and support the intellectual, moral, and critical thinking development of the younger generation in line with current needs.

The Pelita Minda Reading Corner offers a wide range of reading materials, comprising 500 books in Malay and English across various genres and fields such as general knowledge, self-development, life skills, entrepreneurship, creativity, and leisure reading suited to the interests and needs of young people.

The reading materials will be rotated every three months according to the requirements and requests of the IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Technical Campus Surau, ensuring that the collection remains relevant and engaging.

To date, the Language and Literature Bureau has established seven Reading Corners nationwide, namely the Ar-Rafi Archery Academy Reading Corner, the Teratak Setiawan Reading Corner, the Eat's Hot Reading Corner, the PKWE Lambak Reading Corner, the Brunei Darussalam National Scouts Federation Reading Corner, the Youth Centre Reading Corner, and the Pelita Minda Reading Corner.
