Doa Selamat Ceremony for Prospective Hajj Pilgrims of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports

Bandar Seri Begawan, Thursday, 13 Zulkaedah 1447 / 30 April 2026 – The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) held a Doa Selamat ceremony for its officers and staff, as well as those from departments under the ministry, who will be performing the Hajj pilgrimage for the 1447H/2026M season. The event took place at the Citra Budaya Hall, MCYS.


The ceremony was graced by the presence of Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.


The program began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Nabil bin Haji Roslan, Religious Development Assistant at the Youth Development Centre, MCYS.


This was followed by the presentation of contributions to the prospective pilgrims by the Guest of Honour. The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat.


A total of eight (8) officers and staff from MCYS and its departments will be performing the Hajj pilgrimage this year.


Also in attendance were the Permanent Secretary, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, senior officials, officers, staff of MCYS and its departments, as well as the prospective pilgrims themselves.


The ceremony was held as an expression of gratitude and to seek blessings and safety for the ministry’s pilgrims in particular, and for all Bruneian pilgrims in general, as they embark on their journey to perform the Hajj and return safely, while undertaking the pilgrimage in faithful fulfillment.
