60 minutes with the Al-Quran Program

BERAKAS, Monday, 26 Ramadan 1447/16 March 2026 – In effort to encourage the Al-Quran reading culture for the muslim community in this country, Language and Literature Bureau Department through the Library Division held 60 minutes with the Al-Quran Program at the Dewan Digadong, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and virtually through the DBP sosial media page.

 

Present as the Guest of Honor for the Ceremony was Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Mohd. Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Culture), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The program was enlivened with the recitation of Selawat Tafrijiyyah and Sayyidul Istighfar led by students of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Quran Institute.

 

The ceremony continued with a 60-minute simultaneous reading of the Al-Quran, Juzuk 4, Surah Ali Imran, verses 93 – 200 and Surah An-Nisa, verses 1 – 23.

The objectives of organizing this program are to encourage people and residents in this county to read the Al-Quran.  In addition, this program also aims to gain blessings and rewards during the month of Ramadan by inviting the public to spend at least 60 minutes reading and listening to the recitation of the holy verses of the Quran.

Also present at the ceremony were the Heads of Divisions and Departments as well as officers and staff of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

 

The live streaming via the Zoom application was also attended by government officers and staff, students of higher learning institutions, school students, associations and the public. The live broadcast can also be followed via YouTube, Instagram and TikTok of the DBP Library.

This program is hoped to increase knowledge, provide benefits and strengthen brotherhood among Muslims, especially among officers, staff, guests and the public who attended the program.

 

The ceremony closed with a speech of appreciation from Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Haireni binti Haji Awang Damit, Acting Director of DBP as the Chairman of the Ceremony to all program participants, with the hope that participation in this beneficial ceremony will continue to increase in the future.

 

The program was also coordinated with the Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Donation Presentation Ceremony for Orphans.
