KUALA BELAIT, Wednesday, 21 Ramadan 1447/11 March 2026 – In further enlivening this blessed month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Departments under it held a Quran Recitation Ceremony at the Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, Kuala Belait, Belait District.

This ceremony was conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Youth and Sports Department in collaboration with the Takmir Committee of the Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, Kuala Belait, Belait District.

The Tadarus Al-Quran ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah in a group led by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Mohamad. The ceremony continued with the recitation of verses Al- Quran in turns and was followed by the recitation of a Doa for the Health and Well-being of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, which was read by Yang Mulia Awang Afiq Haririe bin Haji Mat Daud, Mosque Affairs Officer, Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, Kuala Belait.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of waqf to the Mosque Affairs Officer, Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, Kuala Belait. The ceremony ended with the obligatory Maghrib prayer in congregation.

Also present were the Permanent Secretary, Directors of Divisions and Departments, Officers and Staff of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and its Department and the congregation of Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, Kuala Belait.

The Tadarus Al-Quran Ceremony is one of the annual religious programs held every Ramadan, which is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Departments under it. The organization of this ceremony aims to strengthen the appreciation of the Al-Quran in addition to strengthening the ties of kinship among the officers and staff of the ministry and the mosque congregation and further to gain blessings and rewards multiplied by Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala throughout this month of mercy. This ceremony is also a continuation of the ceremonies that were held on 26 February 2026 and 5 March 2026.
