BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Tuesday, 20 Ramadan 1447 / 10 March 2026 – The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports held Tahlil at the Royal Brunei Mausoleum specifically for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam, Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, and Al-Marhum Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim ibni Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah. The ceremony took place at the Royal Mausoleum. 

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports led the delegation from ministry and its departments. 

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by attendees, followed by the recitation of Surah Yasin and Tahlil, led by Awang Mohammad Hisyamuddin bin Haji Mohd Noor, a Mosque Affairs Officer from the Mosque Affairs Office of the Brunei-Muara District.

This annual religious event organised by the ministry and its departments, and coordinated by the Department of Museums. The ceremony aims to enliven the month of Ramadan through religious practices and strengthen ties among officers, staff, youth associations, sports associations, sports coaches, senior citizens’ activity centres, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
