Bandar Seri Begawan, Wednesday, 23 Syaaban 1447 / 11 February 2026 – The Distribution Ceremony of Dates, a personal gift from His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu‘izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, in conjunction with the month of Ramadan 1447/2026, was held today at the Citra Budaya Hall, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The ceremony was organized for officers and staff of the Ministry and its departments.

Present to officiate the ceremony was Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Culture), who attended as the guest of honour.

To seek blessings for the occasion, the event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Nabil bin Haji Roslan, Religious Development Assistant, Youth Development Centre, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The ceremony continued with the distribution of dates, a personal gift from His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu‘izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, presented by the guest of honour.

A total of 6,852 small boxes of dates were distributed to officers, staff, and departments under the Ministry, including for their respective family members.

The ceremony concluded with the recitation of "Doa Khas bagi Kesihatan dan Kesejahteraan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam" and "Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam", led by Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Nabil bin Haji Roslan.

Also in attendance were Directors of Divisions and Departments, as well as officers and staff of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
