The Homecoming Ceremony for the Brunei Darussalam Contingent from the 33rd Southeast Asian Games 2025, Bangkok, Thailand

BERAKAS, Tuesday, 25 Jamadilakhir 1447 / 16 December 2025 – The Brunei Darussalam contingent, comprising 37 members including Secretariat Officers, medical staff, and athletes from Wushu, Pencak Silat, Swimming, and Weightlifting, returned to Brunei Darussalam after participating in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand.


Present at the Brunei International Airport to welcome and congratulate the contingent, and to present the congratulatory sashes, was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Also present was Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Culture), accompanied by senior officers from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.


The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Yang Mulia Awang Haji Ali Rahman bin Haji Sulaiman, followed by congratulatory remarks to the contingent and concluded with a group photo session.


The Wushu athletes achieved notable success, with Yang Mulia Mohamad Adi Salihin bin Roslan winning one gold medal in the Men’s Nandao, Nangun, and Nanquan All-Round event, Yang Mulia Dayang Basma Lachkar securing one silver medal in the Women’s Taijiquan and Taijijian All-Round event, and Yang Mulia Awang Majdurano Joel bin Majallah Sain together with Yang Mulia Awang Abel @ Lim Wee Yuan winning two bronze medals in the Men’s Weapons Duilian event. 


The Pencak Silat athletes also achieved success, with Yang Mulia Dayang Nurul Wasiqah Aziemah binti Rosihan winning one silver medal in the Women’s Single (Tunggal) category.​
