BERAKAS, Sunday, 16 Jamadilakhir 1447 / 7 December 2025 – The 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) 2025 is officially scheduled to take place from 9 to 20 December 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand.
A total of 36 members of the Brunei Darussalam contingent, consisting of 21 athletes in the sports of Karate, Sepak Takraw and Taekwondo, together with 15 officials including the Assistant Chef de Mission, Secretariat Officers, Medical Officers and Coaches, have departed for Bangkok, Thailand to participate in the tournament.
Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Culture), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, was present at Brunei International Airport to extend his farewell and offer words of encouragement.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Doa Selamat led by Yang Mulia Awang Shahram bin Haji Abd Rahman, followed by words of encouragement to the Brunei Darussalam contingent, and concluded with a group photo session.
Brunei Darussalam, in this 33rd SEA Games, will compete in nine sports out of the 54 contested, namely Swimming, Weightlifting, Netball, Karate, Pencak Silat, Polo, Sepak Takraw, Taekwondo and Wushu.
Also present were Senior Officers of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, representatives of National Sports Associations and families of the athletes.
The next group will depart for Bangkok, Thailand on Tuesday, 9 December 2025.
