The Youth Development Programme Convocation Ceremony

TANAH JAMBU, Tuesday, 28 October 2025 — A total of 173 trainees were awarded their certificates today upon successfully completing their courses under the Youth Development Programme. The recipients comprised participants from the 2022 and 2023 cohorts of the programme.

 

The Youth Development Programme Convocation Ceremony, held at the Youth Development Centre, was officiated by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Mohamad.

 

The certificate recipients from the 2022 and 2023 sessions had completed various vocational courses, including Vehicle Body Repair, Welding and Fabrication, Info-Communication Technology, Culinary and Banquet, Pastry and Confectionery, Domestic Water Piping, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Fashion Design Technology, and Beauty Therapy.

 

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the Outstanding Trainee Award for both sessions. This award recognizes trainees who achieved excellent academic results during their studies at the Youth Development Centre (PPB), and who demonstrated commendable efforts and positive outcomes following graduation. The Outstanding Trainee Award for the 2022 session was presented to .Yang Mulia Awang Hanif bin Jimin dari Kursus Skills Profiency Certificate in Basic Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, while the 2023 session award was received byYang Mulia Awang Nur Arief Zulfadhly bin Nor Hashim dari Kursus ITQ Level for IT User.

 

In his welcoming address, the Chairman shared recent data indicating that 60 percent of PPB graduates from the 2022/2023 sessions have successfully secured employment, while 5 percent have ventured into entrepreneurship and business, and another 5 percent have pursued further studies.

 

In its ongoing efforts to produce a greater pool of quality workforce, both semi-skilled and skilled, among youth to enhance employment opportunities and contribute to national economic growth, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, through the Youth Development Centre, will continue to assess labour market demands to ensure that the courses offered remain aligned with industry needs.
