Bandar Seri Begawan, Wednesday, 23 Rabiulakhir 1447 / 15 October 2025 — The Government of His Majesty Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, through the Department of Community Development (JAPEM) under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, has extended a total financial assistance amounting to BND$17,500.00 to eighteen (18) heads of households. The presentation ceremony was held at the Citra Budaya Hall, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Of the eighteen (18) recipients, eight (8) heads of households were victims of strong wind incidents, three (3) were affected by fire, six (6) by flooding, and one (1) household was impacted by unsafe housing conditions. Additionally, one (1) family affected by fire received essential supplies and food rations. All victims and residents involved in these disasters are reported to be safe and unharmed.

This financial assistance aims to alleviate the hardship faced by the disaster victims and to support their family welfare. The initiative reflects the government’s concern and compassion towards citizens and residents affected by calamities.

Present to deliver the financial aid to the disaster victims was Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari, Permanent Secretary (Community) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, and Acting Director of JAPEM, who also served as Chairperson of the ceremony.​
