Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 10 September 2025 –​ Yang Mulia Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari, Permanent Secretary (Community), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Brunei Darussalam, undertook an official working visit to the Institut Sosial Malaysia (ISM) in Kuala Lumpur. Accompanying her were officials from the Department of Community Development.

The Institut Sosial Malaysia (ISM), established in 2002, operates under the purview of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) and holds the status of a Public Training Institute (Institut Latihan Awam). The primary objective of the visit was to engage in knowledge-sharing with ISM on its methodologies, training programmes, and best practices in social work capacity development, including the implementation of structured training modules.

Through this engagement, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports aims to explore collaborative opportunities in training initiatives that will enhance the competencies of social workers in Brunei Darussalam. Such efforts are expected to contribute significantly to the effectiveness of social welfare services, thereby promoting the well-being of families and communities across the nation.​
