BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Tuesday, 3 Rabiulawal 1447 / 26 August 2025 – The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) held a Dikir Ceremony at the Pengiran Muda Abdul Mateen Mosque in Kampong Mulaut in conjunction with the celebration of Maulidur Rasul (the birth of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam). The event was jointly organized by MCYS, the Department of Museums, and the Brunei History Centre.
Present as the head of the delegation was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The programme commenced with congregational Maghrib prayers, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah to begin the Maulud Dikir, led by Yang Berhormat Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The ceremony continued with the recitation of Dikir Assalamualaika, led by Yang Mulia Awang Khairul Nizam bin Haji Md. Said, Mosque Affairs Officer and Imam of Pengiran Muda Abdul Mateen Mosque, Kampong Mulaut. This was followed by Dikir Khairuman and Dikir Badat performed by the Firqah Al-Falaah group from MCYS.
The event concluded with congregational Isyak prayers, followed by Dikir Marhaban. The Doa Dikir was recited by Yang Mulia Awang Ahmad Bukhari bin Haji Bujang, while the Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam was recited by Yang Mulia Awang Hamdi bin Haji Ibrahim, Imams of Pengiran Muda Abdul Mateen Mosque, Kampong Mulaut.
Also in attendance were the Permanent Secretary, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary, Directors of Divisions and Departments, as well as officers and staff from MCYS and its affiliated departments.
This ceremony is one of MCYS’s annual religious events, held to enliven the celebration of Maulidur Rasul and to fostering closer ties among MCYS officers and staff.
