Bandar Seri Begawan, Thursday, 14 Muharram 1447 / 10 July 2025 – The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, along with its affiliated departments, held the Ilal Hijrah 1447 Celebration Ceremony at the Dewan Digadong, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The event was organised by the Department of Community Development.

The Guest of Honour for the ceremony was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Awang Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. 

The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Yang Mulia Ustaz Haji Nordin bin Haji Durahman, Religious Teacher from the Department of Community Development.

The ceremony was enlivened by a special lecture titled “Hijrah Towards the Pleasure of Allah (Hijrah Menuju, Redha Allah) ​”, delivered by Yang Mulia Haji Awang Muhammad Najib bin Haji Awang, Religious Development Officer, Islamic Da’wah Centre.

Adding further significance to the ceremony, Firqah Al-Falaah, the Ministry’s Dikir group, performed Dikir Marhaban. The performance was dedicated to honouring the return of three pilgrims from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and its departments, who had recently completed their pilgrimage.

The event concluded with a recitation of the  Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam, led by Yang Mulia Ustaz Haji Nordin bin Haji Durahman, followed by Selawat Tafrijiyyah and Sayyidul Istighfar as the closing prayers.

Also in attendance were Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries, together with officers and staff of the Ministry and its departments. The ceremony was chaired by Yang Mulia Dayang Fauziah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Acting Director of Community Development.
