Tuesday, 13 Zulhijjah 1446 / 10 june 2025 – Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and its departments held a Qurban Ceremony at Dewan Digadong, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Building.

Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Awang Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Also present in this ceremony are the Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Directors of Divisions and Departments, Officers and Staff of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and its departments.

A total of seven (7) buffaloes were sacrificed this year. Over 303 people from  Pusat Penempatan Sementara (PPS) from the Community Development Department (JAPEM), Orphans and staff of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) received the sacrificial meats. 

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by Selawat Tafrijiyah and Sayyidul Istighfar led by Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad 'Afif bin Ali, Work Officer (SKIPPA). The ceremony was further enlivened with a religious talk entitled "The Virtues of Qurban Worship" delivered by Yang Mulia Ustaz Haji Saharuddin bin Haji Petra, Head of the Counseling and Religious Understanding Division, Department of Syariah Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The ceremony continued with the distribution of sacrificial meat by the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Awang Mohamad, and Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari, Permanent Secretary (Community).

This ceremony is an annual activity/program organized by the Badan Kebajikan dan Keugamaan, MCYS to enliven the celebration of aidil adha while sharing joy with the underprivileged. It also aims to strengthen the relationship and a spirit of togetherness among the MCYS community and its departments.
