BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Thursday, 16 Syawal 1445 / 25 April 2024 - The Brunei Darussalam 2024 Sports Science and Medicine Conference which lasted for two days at the Songket Ballroom, The Rizqun International Hotel.

The council has successfully achieved its objective with medical experts from the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) and the Asian Federation of Sports Medicine (AFSM) who had the opportunity to exchange views with 250 conference participants.

Attending the closing ceremony was the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Awang Mohamad as the guest of honour.

The program of the closing ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a closing speech by the Vice President of the International Federation of Sports Medicine (International Federation of Sports Medicine), Professor Patrick Yung, and followed by a speech by Yang Mulia Dayang Umi Kalthum binti Haji Abdul Karim, Director of Youth and Sports, as Chairman of the Working Committee of the Brunei Darussalam 2024 Sports Science and Medicine Conference.

The Director of Youth and Sports, Yang Mulia Dayang Umi Kalthum in his speech said Brunei sports and exercise medicine and sports science are to improve the health and performance of athletes and active individuals.

At the ceremony, the guest of honor then completed the presentation of certificates and souvenirs to the guest speakers, moderators and sponsors.

The ceremony ended with the recitation of a safe prayer and a group photo session with the guests of honor.

Also present were Pengiran Mohammad Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Permanent Secretary (Sports), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as Advisor to the Working Committee of the Brunei Darussalam 2024 Sports Science and Medicine Conference; Pengiran Haji Mohd. Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Culture), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports; Dayang Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari, Permanent Secretary (Community), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, as well as senior officials of Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Youth and Sports Department.
