BERAKAS, Thursday, 09 Syawal 1445 / 18 April 2024 - The Ministry of Health held a Mental Health Briefing for citizens of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in conjunction with the celebration of World Mental Health Day 2023 with the theme "Mental Health and Well-Being at Work - A Basic Right". The event was held in the Hall Digadong, Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sports.

 

The event started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Yang Mulia Ustaz Awang Sarip Hidayatullah bin Iskandar and continued with a welcome speech from Yang Mulia Mrs. Hani Haryana binti Haji Maidin, Head of Clinical and Community Psychology Services, Ministry of Health. This Mental Health Briefing was delivered by 3 professional panel members namely Yang Mulia Pg Dr Fariza Suryani binti Pg Dato Paduka Haji Sani, Head of Psychiatry Services, Ministry of Health; Yang Mulia Ustaz Muhd Yussof bin Haji Abdul Majid, Head of the Counseling and Religious Understanding Division (KAFA), Sharia Affairs Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Yang Mulia Dr Ak Muhammad Yazakka bin Pg Mohd Yamin, Medical Officer (Psychiatry), Ministry of Health.

 

About 70 participants consisting of officials and staff under the Ministry of Youth Culture and Sports and the departments attended the roadshow. In accordance with the theme for this roadshow, which is "Mental Health and Well-Being at Work - A Basic Right", among other things, it aims to increase awareness, prevention and management of mental health, personal well-being and reduce stigma, negative views on mental health, especially among service members. public. It is also hoped to become a platform for the provision of mental health and personal well-being services available in this country.

 

This In-House Training roadshow is jointly operated by the Mental Health Strategy Unit, the Health Promotion Center, the Psychiatric Service of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital [RIPAS] and the Clinical & Community Psychology Service, Ministry of Health, Counseling and Religious Understanding Division (KAFA), Ministry of Religious Affairs and Human Resource Planning and Development Division, Department of Administration, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, and supported by Clarity Sdn Bhd.
