TUTONG, Monday, 28 Ramadhan 1445/8 April 2024. – In an effort to celebrate the glorious month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport through the Department of Youth and Sports has organized the Majlis Khatam Al-Quran Belia di Bulan Ramadan​ 1445H/2024M held at the Ar-Rahim Mosque, Kampong Bukit Panggal.

Yang Berhormat Awang Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan, Member of Legislation Council was present as Guest of Honour.

The course of the ceremony began with the reading of the Surah Al-Fatihah led by the Guest of Honour, followed by the reading of the Khatam Al-Qur'an from Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah al-Masad led by Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Darwisy Afiq bin Jalani, Youth Movement Impak Tutong and continued with the recitation of Takhtim Al-Qur'an led by Yang Mulia Mohammad 'Ammar Zulqarnain bin Mohammad Azril, from Youth Mosque Group of Pengiran Abdul Wakeel, Kampong Kiudang.

While the Khatam Prayer was read by Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Nur Hafizan @ Nur Syafizan bin Saban, youth representative of the Ar-Rahim Mosque, Kampong Bukit Panggal, followed by Dikir Marhaban by the Ugama Seri Begawan University College Group. The ceremony concluded with a reading of the Doa Allah Pelihara Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam by Yang Mulia Awang Mohammed Dandarawi bin Awang Nasar, Head of Kampong Bukit Panggal and Luagan Dudok.

Majlis Khatam Al-Quran Belia di Bulan Ramadan is one of the annual projects of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports under the control of the Department of Youth and Sports of the district branches in conjunction with the welcoming month of Ramadan Mubarak by involving the cooperation of many parties including government agencies, youth associations and not forgetting the involvement of the youth themselves.

The event aims, among other things, to promote the involvement of youth in religious activities, as well as to enhance and strengthen understanding and cooperation among the agencies involved in the development and youth civilisation and to celebrate the month of Ramadan with useful fillings especially with the reading of the Quran.

At the meeting were jointly present Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Culture); Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari, Permanent Secretary (Community); Yang Mulia Awang Haji Zakaria bin Haji Serudin, Permanent Secretary (Youth); Yang Mulia Dr. Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, Acting Permanent Secretary (Sports); Yang Mulia Awang Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri, Acting  Tutong District Officer; directors of divisions and departments; officers and staff of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the departments under it.
