BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Wednesday, 23 Ramadan 1445H/3 April 2024M. - The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, through the Brunei History Centre, recently organized a Reading of Surah Yaasin and Tahlil Ceremony for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam, Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman dan Al-Marhum Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Haji 'Abdul 'Azim ibni Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah. The ceremony took place at Kubah Makam Diraja.

Leading the delegation was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

During the event, a collective recitation of Surah Yaa Sin and Tahlil was conducted, guided by Yang Mulia Awang Faizal bin Janip/Rosli, an Officer of Mosque Affairs from Masjid Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah, Kampong Tamoi, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Approximately 250 staff members from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and departments under it, participated in this solemn occasion. 

Also present were the Permanent Secretaries and senior officials of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and departments under it, and representatives of the strategic partners of the MCYS.
