The Department of Community Development (JAPEM), in collaboration with Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB), has organized Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony for the residents/occupants of the Welfare Home Complex (KRK), which was also joined by JAPEM officers and staff, in conjunction with Nuzul Al-Quran 1445/2024 at Dewan An-Naura, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

A total of 34 JAPEM officers and staff participated in this event, consisting of 19 male participants and 15 female participants. Meanwhile, 19 residents/occupants of KRK also joined which comprised of 6 male participants and 13 female participants.

Present as the guest of honor was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports, and Datin.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and continued with recitation of Al-Quran, Takhtim, and Doa Khatam. The ceremony was also graced with Dikir Marhaban and concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat Terhindar dari wabak COVID-19 and Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam and Sayyidul Istighfar.

The event held today aims to enliven the month of Ramadan with beneficial activities and as well as to strengthen the quality of recitation of Al-Quran and to educate the residents and occupants to read regularly, love and listen to the Quran as a daily practice.

Also present were YM Dr. Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Development, as the Acting Managing Director of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Senior Officials of the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports, and YM Dayang Fauziah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Acting Director of Community Development as the Chairperson of the Ceremony.
