Bandar Seri Begawan, Thursday, 11 Rabiulawal 1447 / 4 September 2025 – His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, through the Department of Community Development (JAPEM) under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, has extended financial assistance totaling sixteen thousand Brunei dollars ($16,000.00) to twelve (12) heads of families. The presentation ceremony was held at the Citra Budaya Hall, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Of the twelve recipients, nine (9) families were affected by strong wind incidents, one (1) by fire, one (1) by flooding, and one (1) was identified as residing in a structurally unsafe home. All individuals involved in these incidents were reported to be safe and did not sustain any injuries.

This financial assistance aims to alleviate the hardship faced by disaster victims and support their family’s well-being. The initiative reflects the government’s compassion and commitment to the welfare of citizens affected by calamities.

Present to hand over the financial aid was Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari, Permanent Secretary (Community) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
