Bandar Seri Begawan, Saturday, 12 Zulhijjah 1447 / 30 May 2026 – The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) organized a Qurban Ceremony in conjunction with the celebration of Hari Raya Aidiladha 1447 / 2026 at the Digadong Hall, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.


The ceremony was held specifically for officers and staff of the Ministry and its departments, orphans among the ministry's community, as well as residents of the Temporary Placement Centre (PPS) and the Department of Community Development  (JAPEM).


The Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, officiated the distribution of sacrificial meat to male recipients. Meanwhile, the distribution to female recipients was carried out by Yang Mulia Dr. Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.


The event was also attended by directors, senior officers, officers, and staff of the Ministry and its departments.


The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Selawat Tafrijiyah, and Sayyidul Istighfar, led by Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Nabil bin Haji Ruslan, Religious Development Assistant, Youth Development Centre (PPB).


This was followed by a special tazkirah delivered by Yang Mulia Ustaz Haji Sammali bin Haji Adam, Education Officer, Counseling Division, Ministry of Education, entitled “Qurban: A Symbol of Piety." The program continued with the recitation of the prayer Allah Peliharakan Sultan and Negara Brunei Darussalam.


A total of 226 recipients received the distribution of sacrificial meat, comprising staff, orphans of officers and staff of the Ministry and its departments, as well as residents of PPS and JAPEM.


This ceremony reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Islamic values, while fostering solidarity, compassion, and fraternity among its members and those in need​.
