Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan


Pengiran Haji Mo​​​hd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan was appointed as the Permanent Secretary (Industry) at the Ministry of Energy, Manpower, and Industry on 31 of July, 2018 and later as the Permanent Secretary (Policy and Strategy Management) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports on 19 of November, 2019. Prior to his appointment as Permanent Secretary, he was the Director of Human Resource Development and Corporate Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and, later, the Acting Controller of the Royal Customs and Excise Department.

 

Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan joined the Brunei Darussalam Civil Service in 2002 as an Administrative Officer under the Brunei Administrative Service (BAS) Scheme and has served in various positions in the public sector, which cover areas in Administration and Finance, Local Authority, Community Development, Policy Formulation, Civil Service Reforms, Human Resources, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE), Customs and Excise, Enforcement, and Ease of Doing Business. These included stints with the Public Service Department, Brunei and Muara District Office, Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, and the Royal Customs and Excise Department.

Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan's portfolio at the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports includes coordinating an​d managing cultural affairs, in addition to strategic and policy affairs of the Ministry Of Culture, Youth, and Sports, including productivity, public relations, internal audits, human resource development (HRD), and information technology. He is also the CIO (Chief Information Officer) of the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports.​ ​

 

Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in International Tourism and Hotel Management from South Bank University, London, United Kingdom. In 2006, he was awarded a Master of Human Resource Management degree from Griffith University, Australia. Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan's interests include reading, hiking, playing football, and futsal​.
